Is Enedemer safe? An honest answer
What we do to keep the Ethiopian random video chat safe — and what no random chat can promise.

Random video chat connects you live with a stranger. That is the fun of it and the risk of it, and any site that tells you it has made stranger chat completely safe is lying to you. Omegle's collapse in 2023 showed what happens when a platform ignores that. This page explains plainly what Enedemer (እንደመር) does, what you can do, and where the limits are.
What Enedemer does
- Adults only. Our Terms of Service require every user to be 18 or older, and appearing on camera with anyone under 18 is banned. We end sessions and restrict access when we believe a user is underage.
- A Report button in every chat. One tap flags your current partner. Reports are logged on our server against that user.
- Automatic restrictions. Users who collect repeated reports are automatically restricted from the service — no human delay, no appeals theater. Serious violations can lead to permanent blocks.
- A NEXT button, always. You never have to endure a conversation. One tap ends it instantly and moves you to the next person. Nobody is told who skipped them.
- Clear rules of conduct. Nudity, sexual content, harassment, hate, violence, scams, and recording other users without consent are all prohibited by the terms.
What Enedemer deliberately doesn't have
- No accounts, no profiles. There is nothing to sign up for, which means there is no database of your name, photos, or chat history to leak or be stalked through.
- No recording — by design, not policy. Video and audio travel peer-to-peer between you and your partner over WebRTC. The stream never passes through our servers, so we could not store your video even if we wanted to. See the Privacy Policy for the small amount of technical data we do process.
- No location sharing, no phone numbers. The app never asks for them and never shows them.
The honest limits
Conversations are live and are not moderated in real time. No employee is watching your chat (that would also be a privacy problem), and no filter can perfectly screen a live camera. You may encounter someone behaving badly before the report system has caught up with them. Your two tools — NEXT and Report — exist precisely for that moment, and they work best when people actually use them.
If someone misbehaves
- Press Report. This logs the behavior against them and feeds the automatic restriction system.
- Press NEXT. You owe a stranger nothing. Skip immediately.
- Never share personal details — full name, address, workplace, phone number, bank or Telebirr details — with someone you just met. Treat any request for money, gifts, or "verification codes" as a scam, however friendly the person seems.
- Don't let anyone move you off-platform too fast. Pressure to switch to another app right away is a common scam pattern everywhere, not just here.
- If someone claims to have recorded you, don't pay and don't negotiate — that is a known extortion script. Stop contact and, if threatened, involve local police.
A note for the community
Recording or sharing another person's video without their explicit consent violates our terms and can seriously harm them. If you make content from your chats — a growing genre among Habesha creators — record only your own side and get real consent from anyone else shown.
